Project Manager – Chantilly, VA

Your Role

As a Project Manager at INTEC, you’re both a leader and a collaborator—guiding projects from concept to completion while fostering teamwork every step of the way. You’ll manage schedules, budgets, and resources; oversee the quality and accuracy of deliverables; and ensure that all work aligns with project goals and contractual requirements. You know the codes and standards inside and out, but your real strength lies in your ability to think strategically and find creative, solutions-oriented paths forward for both your team and your clients. At INTEC, we believe the best project managers don’t just direct—they engage. You’ll be hands-on in the process: brainstorming ideas, sketching solutions, and collaborating closely with architects, designers, and consultants to create meaningful, well-crafted spaces that reflect our holistic approach to design.

This hybrid position requires at least three (3) days in the office each week and offers the flexibility to balance focused work and in-person collaboration in a way that works for you. While the schedule may shift based on project needs, our ideal candidate is local to the DMV area or actively relocating. Candidates seeking a fully remote opportunity will NOT be considered.

NOTE: A background in architecture, interior design, or a closely related design field is required. Candidates without relevant design experience will not be considered.

As a Project Manager on the INTEC Group team, you will:

  • Lead project team through design and delivery processes, on various commercial development, renovation and/or construction projects.
  • Prepare project schedules and cost estimates; monitor budgets, contractual obligations and deliverables.
  • Assist in the development of proposals (including fees), responding to RFQs/RFPs, and the project interview process in collaboration with the marketing team, as required.
  • Ensure each project conforms to contractual agreement with client.
  • Manage workflow and production of deliverables of the team.
  • Collaborate with other Project Managers and Directors to efficiently allocate team resources and complete weekly staffing assignments and monthly projections.
  • Be involved in construction, detailing, and the selection of materials and finishes to appropriately convey the design concept and accurately reflects the budget, goals and objectives of each client.

  • Provide technical guidance and innovative solutions to resolve complex design challenges.
  • Oversee the finalization of all permit applications, building information forms, and associated permit forms following completion of the construction documents phase.

  • Actively mentor the staff; provide performance feedback, as needed or required.
  • Be willing to travel, if necessary and as required, both locally and domestically.
  • Maintain ongoing, positive and productive client relationships through successful project delivery.
  • Work hard but play hard as well…actively contributing to office activities, cultural initiatives and learning opportunities.
