Mark Kasten

Mark is the Director of Cahoon + Kasten, INTEC Group’s Outer Banks office, and brings nearly 40 years of architectural experience—and just as many stories from the job site. A Virginia Tech graduate with a Bachelor of Architecture, he’s worked across a wide range of project types but is especially drawn to public and service-oriented spaces, thriving on variety and purpose-driven design. He’s most in his element during Schematic Design, where creativity takes shape, and Construction Administration, where teamwork turns drawings into reality. Nature is his go-to source of inspiration, and outside of work he enjoys sailing, surfing, biking, and playing music—pastimes that reflect his thoughtful and hands-on approach to both life and design. If he weren’t an architect, he’d be a musician, channeling the same sense of rhythm and harmony that guides his work today.
